FOCUS TO EXCEL
Don't fall prey to the allure of being great at everything all at once

Hey Team,
In this coaching journey, I feel there is something I gotta share.
It’s about trying to juggle too many skills at once in your sport. I have seen so many athletes fall prey to the allure of being great at everything all at once.
Frustrated at the lack of progress, and end up feeling stuck with ‘okay’ skills.
What if?
You, zoomed in on ONE game-changing skill right now?
You’re picking that one skill that would make the greatest impact on your game.
That’s where the magic happens.
You’re in the driver’s seat of your growth, so let’s get intentional.
What’s the one skill that, if you nailed it, would make the greatest impact and transform your game?
The most underrated skill of the most successful is prioritising,
Why? Because they chose to master what matters most.
Finding Your Game-Changer:
Invest the time to take a hard look at where you’re at.
What’s that one skill that, if levelled up, would make the greatest impact on your game?
Seek input from others if needed.
Once you have the answer, seek out and create opportunities to develop that skill one to a level of mastery.
Heads-Up:
You are not saying no to the other skills, you are LEADING with ONE right now.
Here’s to you owning your skill set and most of all mastering them.
Let me know how you get on….
In Your Corner, Always,
Coach Damian

Damian:
Excellent stuff here. This is much needed in my life, as I have been trying to drink through a drinking straw from the entire ocean of areas in which I need to make improvement. And, not surprisingly, I feel like I am getting nowhere, but swamped. After reading this, I will use the straw not for drinking, but as a sort of sightglass, which constricts my focus to the one thing, and omits everything else. Thanks for sharing.
